In this article, we will start with a blank piece of paper and discover how to draw an easy cat drawing in no time. It makes sense to pay attention to the proportions of each part of the cat.

Time Needed: 20 minutes

  1. Begin Drawing The Head

    Draw an oval shape. This will represent the head of the cat.

  2. Next Add Ears

    Erase part of the oval and add triangular shaped ears.

  3. Create The Body

    Draw the left side of the cat's body as shown.

  4. Draw Legs

Simple Cat Drawing

Step 1: Outline the Head

Let's start out by outlining the head of the cat with an oval shape.

Step 2: Attach the Ears

Attach two triangle shapes on each side of the head to form the ears of the cat.

Step 3: Form the Face

Let's give our cat an adorable face by drawing two circles for the eyes. Then, add a rounded triangle for a nose. Attach two curved lines to the nose to form the cat's mouth. Finally, let's draw lines on both sides of the head to give our cat some whiskers.

Step 4: Draw the Body and Tail

Form an elongated shape to create the body. Next, add a long narrow shape to form the tail.

Step 5: Add the Legs

Let's add legs to our cat by adding four shapes attached to the body similar to the illustration shown.

Step 6: Complete the Simple Cat Drawing

Let's complete our simple cat drawing by adding some color! First, let us shade the eyes with a yellow crayon. Remember to use a black crayon to add pupils. Then, use a white crayon to add some sparkle to our cat's eyes. Let's move on to the inner ears and nose of the cat by coloring it in with a black crayon. Next, use a white crayon to shade the paws, snout, and underbelly. Finish off the simple cat drawing by using a gray crayon to fill in the rest of the body. Don't forget to add patterns to the fur using a dark gray crayon.
